This adapter allows an iPod portable digital music player with a dock connector to be hooked up to and controlled by most 2005 or newer JVC receivers that have MP3-compatible CD changer controls and display the following: CD Text, MP3 folder/file names, or ID3 Tag information. All the iPod buttons will be disabled when connected to this adapter and the iPod will be controlled from the JVC receiver. With this interface, you'll be able to play your iPod music files through your JVC receiver and have all the titling information appear on the JVC's display. When this interface is connected to the JVC receiver, you cannot connect a CD changer.
- Allows you to connect an iPod to select JVC stereos
- Plugs into changer input jack

This product does what JVC’s web site claims it does, and was relatively easy to install.

i saved $20 on this over other sources. it works great with my jvc head unit. it controls the ipod. the menu on the head unit takes a bit of getting used to, but it is wonderful to have my ipod so controlled and charged.

Easy to use, nothing to install-took 30 secs. I love the ability to be able
keep iPod in glove and control my music. I have been using a iTrip for years
-its a great product, but this so much better. Especially if traveling between different big cities- you never have to re-adjust your iPod because your FM station is being used.

I have really loved having this in my car. It makes listening to my iPod in the car a breeze. Using the remote or the faceplate to navigate through the files is intuitive. There is no sacrifice of quality unlike other solutions for listen to the iPod in the car (i.e. monster FM transmitters, tape decks.) I would recommend this product to anyone (actually my little sister just ordered one on my recommendation.)

Works so well you don’t even know it’s there. Very convenient to manipulate the iPod directly from the radio control panel. The radio panel only has an 8-character display, which is substantially less than the iPod screen, so there is an inherent limitation on what you can see. Still, it is very convenient.

I bought this IPod interface adapter for my boyfriend. It was easy to install, and works great.

Simply stated, this works. I like the fact that the installation kit provided a 2-sided mounting pad to assist with placing the unit out of site. It works as described by Amazon, and it the only way you should consider to connect an iPod to a JVC head unit. Installation was less than 5 minutes.

This is exactly what I was looking for when I decided on the JVC KD-HDR1 receiver. Installation was a snap, and the box even included a piece of double sided tape to secure the item up under the dash. Both cords are plenty long to mount the unit almost anywhere in or under the dash. The controls blend right into the operation of the receiver, and since my iPod is a 3G, 15GB, there are even some options for shuffle play that I don’t have such as shuffle by artist and by album.
As reported elsewhere, the movement through the songs or artists is a bit slow. You just can’t replace the speed of the wheel with a remote control. However, when you hold down the button on the remote to scroll, the songs start to jump at about 10 at a time. Not great, but adequate to get where you want to go while stopped at a stop light.
Overall, I am very pleased with the functionality and amount of control that I have via the remote – a feature that was a deal breaker in choosing JVC over the other brands.

It took the technicians 30 minutes to install this and it works great! sound quality is far more superior than those FM transmitters. From the reviews I read before buying this, they said that you will be able to control the iPod through your car stereo, it didn’t work that way for me. Everything is controlled by my iPod except for the volume, which is totally fine for me, i find it easier for me to control everything through the iPod. Think of it working as a docking station, it charges it, you control everything on it exept for the volume.

I bought this item to use with an existing JVC HD CD-Receiver. Installation in a Mazda 626 was easy, taking about 15 minutes. I ran the iPod connector cable to the glove box and keep and iPod Classic connected all the time. It is out of view. The JVC unit controls the iPod as described by JVC, that is to say funky menu, and not the intuitive Apple type interface. But the unit uses the current iPod setting when it is re-connected, so selecting a playlist in advance allows me to not really ever use the JVC interface. It is easy to play next or previous song; easy to skip ahead or back within an mp3, easy to make the display show artist or song id3 tag info. The sound quality is better than the mp3 CD’s, but I am really just very pleased and they are probably identical. I live in a HD Radio friendly zone, and I enjoy that, but having my iPod library doing its thing makes me want to be stuck in traffic! I connected my iPhone, and no surprise, it does not charge the iPhone and does not play the music. Do not buy this model thinking the iPhone will work with the KS-PD100. I expect the same is true for an Apple Touch. My iPod 160GB Classic works perfectly. It will help keep me alive by displaying the Now Playing data instead of trying to use the iPod while driving!!!
